Economic Study on Switchgear Configuration in Electrical Systems of Offshore Wind Farms With Cable Outage Along with the rapid development of offshore wind farms, the internal electric system of them has caused wide public concern. In this paper the economy of switchgear configuration for offshore wind farms is researched and based on traditional switchgear configuration the switchgear complete configuration and the switchgear partial configuration are put forward respectively; after the comprehensive consideration of two factors, i.e., the cost of investment and the fault opportunity cost due to the fault of submarine cable, the total costs of above-mentioned three switchgear configuration are assessed, and the sensitivity analysis on such factors impacting total cost as the price of switchgear, cable failure rate and maintenance time of failure is performed. Analysis results show that considering the economy, the switchgear partial configuration is the best one in the three switchgear configurations other Wang pdf [Download]
Simulation of Switching Over2voltages in the Collector Networks of Off shore Wind Farm As off shore wind farms are getting larger and larger , the research on their collector networks has att racted growing international concerns recently. The switching over2voltages of the collector networks with and without running cable feeders are analyzed using PSCAD/ EMTDC software , and the principles of two kinds of switching over2voltages are explained. Then the impact of different design parameters on the switching over2voltage are investigated to provide references for the design of the collector networks and of step2up t ransformer insulation. Integration of wind power and Impact on power transfer and power flow in Chifeng power grid Being a clean, renewable energy with the capability of large scale application, wind energy has attracted more and more attention. Wind power has also been developed rapidly. At the mean time, the integration of large capacity of wind power to the power grid has brought a big challenge to the power grid. Chifeng Power Grid, which transfers its main power to the other power grid, has got many problems of the injected wind power. In this study, the model of the power grid with wind farms has been built in the well-known simulation software PowerFactory. The power transfer and power flow has been analyzed at different cases such as maximum wind power, minimum wind power, maximum load, minimum load, respectively. The boundary of the transferring power to accept the wind power has been certified by the “N-1” criteria. At last, it is proposed to improve the capability of the power transfer according to the simulation results. scholarly paper Wang pdf [Download]
Flexible Technique for Camera Calibration We propose a flexible new technique to easily calibrate a camera. It is well suited for use without specialized knowledge of 3D geometry or computer vision. The technique only requires the camera to observe a planar pattern shown at a few (at least two) different orientations. Either the camera or the planar pattern can be freely moved. The motion need not be known. Radial lens distortion is modeled. The proposed procedure consists of a closed-form solution, followed by a nonlinear refinement based on the maximum likelihood criterion. Both computer simulation and real data have been used to test the proposed technique, and very good results have been obtained. Compared with classical techniques which use expensive equipment such as two or three orthog- onal planes, the proposed technique is easy to use and flexible. It advances 3D computer vision one step from laboratory environments to real world use. scholarly paper Zhan pdf [Download]
